If we are to check our daily living, there would be instances wherein we are faced with difficult, important and crucial questions in life and we have to make choices and decisions in order to modify our individual worlds. And most often the not, we are always confronted by questions that are answerable by YES or NO- just like using the thing originally developed by Charles Babbage and now being popularized by Bill Gates- the computer.
Others are saying that life is like a computer and with that, I would like to agree but let's first define the two subjects of this simile. Life has been defined as the state of being which begins with births and ends with death; More so, it is a state of living thing in which all or any of its organs are capable of performing all or any of their functions.
Like a computer, life has a system of many aspects of functioning together. Our hardware are our body organs while our software is our rational mind that instructs our hardware what to do. the Lord, our Creator, is the system unit which is the core of a computer system. The CPU , one important component of the system unit, is our brain. The monitor which displays the information in visual form, using text of graphics is our physical aspect which shows our appearance. The mouse interacts with items on your screen, as you would use your hands to interact with objects in physical world. And our printer, though not all computers have printers, are the daily outputs and sometimes it shows our achievements in life.
As students, there are many instances where in our minds are loaded with many irrelevant and destructing things that we want to set aside or even erase if possible for us to focus. There are our computer viruses. How we wish we can ask someone to help us but suddenly we came to a point that it is only us to can resolve it in our own. But we realized that the only recourse was a complete reformatting of our lives.
After spending so much time in scrolling documents, proofreading, deleting some, keeping some, the dialogue box would ask " Are you sure you want to delete the selected items?" And there we are challenged by a simple multiple choice: YES or NO? And since we really wanted to get rid of this destruction, we hit ENTER, thus letting go off those viruses, which brings the realization the power to forget and let go is a necessary condition of our existence and survival. Now, we will enter into a new window: new inputs were now carefully selected gearing towards achieving our goals. Some files were closed, some are deleted ( our unpleasant memories ), others saved documents ( our fond memories ) are reopened in order to inspire us, hoping that no virus ( bad experiences ) would infect our new file ( our new life).
